Ultra-deep seismic tomography revealing the remnants of ancient sunken tectonic plates pooled at the core-mantle boundary.
Why I created this today:
The Earth is constantly ringing like a bell, vibrating in low-frequency spherical harmonics. Before digital accelerometers, mechanical seismographs etched microscopic tremors onto soot-smoked rotating drums using heavy suspended pendulums. In this laboratory, you can trigger historical megathrust earthquakes (1960 Valdivia, 2004 Sumatra, 1755 Lisbon, 1906 San Francisco), observe acoustic wave refraction through the Earth's core shadow zone, adjust strike-slip and subduction beach-ball fault mechanisms, and synthesize lithospheric infrasound.
