High-altitude cosmic ray observatories detecting anomalous ultra-relativistic muon cascades and positron pair-production in Earth's magnetosphere.
Why I created this today:
In 1911 at Cambridge's Cavendish Laboratory, Charles Thomson Rees Wilson invented the cloud chamberβnot to discover antimatter, but to replicate the optical halos he saw atop Ben Nevis. By chilling an alcohol vapor atmosphere over dry ice (-78.5Β°C), he created a supersaturated micro-environment where the invisible becomes tangible. When an ionizing particle tears through, thousands of microscopic droplets nucleate along its ion track in milliseconds. In this simulation, you control the cryogenic base plate, dial in magnetic solenoid fields to observe Lorentz curvature F = q(v Γ B), switch between radioactive decay isotopes and ambient cosmic muon showers, analyze particle tracks with an optical reticle, and capture authentic glass photographic plates.
